Feature release notes: Scenarios Improvements
This month, we released powerful improvements to Scenarios’ Round Modeling tool and Exit Waterfall template. These updates will help you model future rounds and exit waterfalls with more precision from both the Aumni platform and Excel.
New this month:
Round Modeling
- Results Summary tab: Summarizes ownership and next-round information in a rollup view
- Target ownership percentage calculator: Enter in next-round ownership goals to determine participation amount
Exit Waterfall
- Facts and Exit Equity Calculator: A simple calculator to help you factor in outstanding debt and fees when determining exit equity value
- Common, Warrants, and Participating Preferred accommodation
- Fund performance section: See waterfall details by fund
In case you missed it:
- Add or import multiple convertible notes or SAFEs with varying terms to your round model
- New pre- and post-deal cap table format
- Quick-fill calculations that populate the check size needed to maintain ownership or pro rata
Round modeling
You can now toggle between a new Results Summary tab and a post-deal capitalization table so it’s simpler to visualize dilution and understand next-round economics at a glance.
The post-deal cap table itemizes pre- and post-deal ownership by share class so you can determine the impact of a deal scenario and compare economics, a feature that was released earlier this year.
Add a Target Ownership Percentage to the ‘My Investment’ section to calculate the exact participation amount needed for your ownership goals. The percentage will automatically include any equity converting in the round from convertible notes and SAFEs held. Earlier this year, we also released Quick-fill Investment Amount in Pro Rata Calculations to auto-populate the check size needed to maintain ownership or pro rata.
Exit Waterfall
We’ve added a new sheet–the Facts & Exit Equity Calculator–to the Exit Waterfall Excel template that summarizes company details like current post-money valuation and close date, and includes formulas for non-convertible debt and other fees that help you revise total exit equity value in your waterfall.
The model now accommodates common stock, warrant holdings, participating preferred stock (uncapped or capped), enhancing distribution calculation precision in more complex capital structures.
We’ve also released fund-level economic breakouts within the model so you can compare distributions and MOIC between your participating funds.
In case you missed it:
Aumni now accounts for common stock, warrants, convertible notes, and SAFEs in your round model. Available data will automatically populate in a round or exit model, and is customizable in the platform and Excel. Easily add unlimited convertible notes with any variety of terms to your model, held by you or a co-investor.
