Aumni Announces Record Growth in 2020, Extends Series A Funding Round
Big news for Aumni today! We just announced an extension of our original $10M Series A round to a total of $13M thanks to the remarkable growth we've seen so far in 2020. The extension includes global strategic partners and industry innovators such as Donnelley Financial Solutions, DLA Piper and Orrick.
Despite the economic downturn, Aumni saw a 300% increase in revenue and 200% increase in customers since February, which was the close of our original Series A, led by Silicon Valley Bank along with Utah VCs Kickstart and Mercato Partners.
Aumni is offering a new lens for the VC market with its mission to become the VC industry's standard data management platform. Since 2018, our founders, Tony Lewis and Kelsey Chase, have worked arduously to deliver this unprecedented platform addressing the need for financial and legal insights across funds in the VC market. Aumni leverages AI and machine learning to glean insights on the legal rights and economic position of investments at scale to solve visibility problems for VCs, family offices, angel investors and more.
Aumni's business has grown substantially in the two years the company has been around with nearly 100 clients, 40 full time employees, powerful industry partners, such as the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA), and a stellar advisory board comprised of Dan Goldsmith from Goldsmith Advisers; Sabya Das and Lokesh Sikaria from Moneta Ventures; Josh Smith from Solovis; Louis Citron from New Enterprise Associates; and Jesse Burg from Vested Law LLP.
The Aumni team is energized to continue along its path revolutionizing the investment space with all the opportunities that today's modern tech has to offer! Today's announcement:
Aumni Extends Series A to Include Orrick, Donnelley Financial Solutions and DLA Piper in Response to Record 2020 Growth
Leading automated investment analytics company extends original $10M round, led by SVB Financial Group, to $13M with addition of new global partners
Aumni, a leader in automated investment analytics for the private capital markets, today announced an extension of its original $10M Series A round to a total of $13M in response to strong growth in 2020. The extension includes global strategic partners and industry innovators such as Donnelley Financial Solutions, DLA Piper and Orrick.
Despite the current economic climate, Aumni has experienced strong growth with a 300% increase in revenue and 200% increase in customers since the close of the original Series A in February of 2020. Also, in July 2020 Aumni formed a strategic partnership with the National Venture Capital Association to embed insights derived from the industry's largest data set on venture deal term usage and frequency.
"The value of the insights that Aumni’s analytics solution is providing drives immense benefit to the private capital markets," said John China, president of SVB Capital. "We are proud to be a part of Aumni’s growth story and are eager to see what they can accomplish in the future."
Aumni's rapid growth in the face of market challenges generated increased demand by the investor community, stoking an extension to its Series A that includes global leaders in innovation and strategy such as new investor, Orrick. A global law firm that services the technology and innovation, energy, infrastructure and finance sectors, Orrick has been named “Most Innovative Law Firm” by Financial Times for three years in a row.
"Aumni's platform combines human intuition and A.I., drawing on the respective strengths of each to unlock data hidden in thousands of legal and financial documents," said Mitch Zuklie, CEO and chairman of Orrick. "Their vision of democratizing these insights for the investor community is the kind of solution the market is craving and has the potential to add social value."
"We are truly humbled by what our team has been able to accomplish given the challenges the industry is facing," said Tony Lewis, CEO and co-founder of Aumni. "We are grateful to have such strong support from our investors, board and customers."
